Real Women
One of the projects I am working on is my "Real Women" project - a photography concept designed to help two kinds of women 1) women who are already confident in their beauty - I use my photographic technique and skill to help women celebrate their beauty and their bodies - women of all ages, creeds, colors, weights, heights, etc etc...women who feel secure in their beauty and want to step forward and say "here I am" and 2) women who struggle with self esteem or are challenged by a negative self image. I offer these, and all, women a comfortable, secure, feminine environment in which to photograph them, any way they like - favorite dress, best jeans and boots, lingerie, whatever...the point is ultimate comfort and ultimate creativity. I, through the photography, help women to see that they are beautiful, just as they are. I use minimal photo editing techniques on "flaws" but instead focus on the creative concept.
Some of the women I have worked with have been truly amazed by the results - not just the photographs but the companion feelings of freedom and maybe even elation that accompany these sessions. Some words: "I can't believe that's me!"; "Not bad for a mother of two!"; "this has been a liberating experience"; "this experience has really helped her confidence - it's been a metamorphosis - I almost don't recognize her!" - these are just some of the words from the mouths of women and families who have experienced the real women project.

In the mean time, enjoy the most recent session with Lily, in collaboration with another wonderful photographer, Bill Woody, who has the key to the building well under wraps but shares on occasion and who, in this collaboration, surely taught me a thing or two.
All images, always, are used with permission. I never publicly display the real women images unless I have full disclosure from each woman, who selects the images that can be shown, if any.
